Yosef Hayim Yerushalmi (1932–2009) Záchor: Zsidó történelem és zsidó emlékezet című művében a legfőbb történészi feladatként a saját népe felé való hídverést jelölte meg. A tanulmány egyrészt azt vizsgálja, hogy milyen értelemben létezik a Yerushalmi által jelzett szakadék, másrészt felveti a kérdést, hogy az emlékezetkutatás tükrében mi az érvényességi kerete ennek a feladat-tűzésnek és az azzal kapcsolatos felelősségnek?
Zachor Today: The Responsibility of Bridging the Chasm
In his Zachor: Jewish History and Jewish Memory, Yosef Hayim Yerushalmi (1932–2009) identified the main task of the historian as that of building a bridge to his own people. This paper examines the sense in which the gap marked by Yerushalmi exists, and asks what is the validity of this task and responsibility in the light of memory studies?
